CiteFlow can export selected project sections as local Markdown or plain text. The export is a portable snapshot, not a synchronized project or a guarantee that citations and quotations are correct.
When to use this method
Notion exports a cloud workspace; CiteFlow exports selected local research sections to portable Markdown or plain text.
Before you start
Finish checking the notes and citation drafts you plan to include, choose a separate destination folder and have a plain-text editor available. Markdown is regular text with simple symbols for headings and lists. An export is a fixed snapshot, so later project changes do not update it.

- Important limit
- A Markdown export created before correcting an author's name remains stale after the project record changes. Regenerate it and verify the new handoff copy.

Resolve obvious metadata gaps and reopen quotations before creating a handoff file.
Select only needed sections
Choose bibliography, Citation History, highlights, PDF notes and project notes separately; leave out anything the recipient should not see. Citation History contains saved citation-aware copy records, not a guarantee that each draft is complete.
Choose Markdown deliberately
Use Markdown when headings, quotations and structure should remain readable in editors and repositories.
Save outside active project data
Write the export to a clear handoff folder with a date or version in the file name.
Open in a second reader
Inspect encoding, headings, source labels, page locators and any sensitive notes before sharing.
