Before you choose
- This is a PDF toolbox, not a full text and layout editor.
- Recognized text can contain mistakes. Check names, numbers and important details against the original.
- Fix Documents is Beta. It cannot recover detail missing from a blurred or overexposed photo.
Try merging two PDFs
Use two non-sensitive PDFs that open normally without a password. Note their page counts and keep the originals.
- Open Merge, choose Add PDFs and select both files.
- Put the files in the intended order from top to bottom. Choose a separate output folder and a new PDF name.
- Select Create merged PDF. Open the result and check its page count, the first and last page of each source, and any links or forms you need.
Expected result: one new PDF with both sources in the chosen order. Its page count should equal their combined count. If a source is rejected or a page is missing, keep the originals and read the result before trying again.

Important limits
- Fix Documents is Beta. Review every crop, split, rotation and corrected page before using the result.
- Blur, glare and details missing from the source photo cannot be restored.
- It is not a full text and layout editor.
- OCR can misread names, numbers, tables, columns, handwriting and poor scans.
- Compression toward a size is best effort, not an exact file-size guarantee.
- Password removal requires the known password; unknown-password recovery is not provided.
- A visible signature is not a certificate-based digital signature.
- Merge does not preserve source bookmarks because bookmark copying is not available.
- The Batch Queue lasts for the current app session and is not restored after the app closes.
- Metadata cleanup is not redaction and does not remove visible sensitive content.
- Corrupted, unusual, encrypted or signed PDFs can fail or lose behavior after modification.

- Fix Documents (Beta) improves page selection, rotation, flattening, lighting and text clarity.
- Document correction includes automatic OCR language detection. Review important recognized text, especially small footnotes or difficult photographs.
- Progress shows the current stage, elapsed time and completed pages instead of an unreliable time-remaining estimate.
- Page previews and background processing use memory more efficiently. Release notes are now in About, and Settings is simpler.
- Automatic donation and Store review prompts have been removed. Optional component downloads and Explorer integration cleanup have been improved.
Correct a photographed document Review the detected page, correction and separate output before using it.
- Add one or more supported images or scanned PDFs. Their order becomes the page order.
- Review the four-corner crop, rotation, color mode and single-page or facing-page choice.
- The app favors a complete page over a partly visible neighboring page. Ambiguous geometry keeps more of the frame for you to review.
- Compare Original and Cleaned previews with drag-to-pan and 25% to 200% cursor-centered zoom.
- Save a separate A4 portrait or landscape PDF. The corrected image keeps its shape, so margins may remain.
- PDF output automatically adds searchable text using the installed OCR languages. Install at least one language pack first. PNG output remains an image.
- Check the corrected pages and searchable text before sharing. If OCR or final checks fail, no incomplete PDF is saved; review the reported problem and try again.
Keep all four page corners visible, hold the camera parallel to the page and avoid glare or motion blur. Correction cannot recreate detail that is missing from the photo.

Can PDF Tools edit paragraph text inside a PDF?
No. It is a focused PDF toolkit for page, conversion, OCR, compression, signature, password, metadata, recipe and batch tasks, not a full text editor.
Can it turn PDF pages into JPG or PNG files?
Yes. It can render selected PDF pages as JPG or PNG images. Selectable text, links and forms do not carry into page images.
Which images can be used to create a PDF?
The documented inputs are JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, single-frame TIFF and WebP.
Can Fix Documents repair every document photo?
No. Fix Documents is Beta. It can correct perspective, page curve, rotation, shadows and uneven lighting, but it cannot restore detail lost to blur, glare or a cropped edge. Keep the original and review every corrected page.
Does OCR guarantee correct searchable text?
No. OCR output must be checked against the page image, especially for names, numbers, tables, columns and poor scans.
Can it remove a PDF password I do not know?
No. Password removal requires the known password and the app does not recover an unknown password.
Is a visible signature a digital certificate signature?
No. A visible signature is a page mark and does not provide cryptographic identity or tamper evidence.
Will compression always reach an exact file size?
No. Compression is best effort and the achievable size depends on the source and acceptable quality.
Does Merge keep the original PDF bookmarks?
No. Bookmark copying is not available, so inspect the merged document and rebuild required navigation with another tool before sharing it.
Is metadata cleanup the same as redaction?
No. Cleanup covers supported properties such as title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer and custom details. It does not erase visible text, images, comments or every hidden data type.
Does the Batch Queue return after I close the app?
No. The queue belongs to the current app session. Finish or record important work before closing.
Are PDF files uploaded for processing?
No. Your PDFs and images are not uploaded for processing. The app can check update metadata, download an OCR pack or the correction component you request, and load the public Supporters list when you open Support.
