What you need before extracting audio
A video can contain several audio tracks, such as different languages or commentary. Choose the track by listening or by its label, then choose an audio format your player accepts.
Extract the intended audio track
Check that the file is ready
Run preflight, the app's readiness check. It checks the video, its audio tracks, and the audio format you chose.
You should see: a ready result or a warning that names the unsupported part.
Choose the track and format
Select the language or audio track you need. Then choose an output profile, which is a saved group of format and quality settings.
You should see: the chosen track and an audio extension in the planned output name.
Save separately
Use a destination that does not replace or obscure the source video.
You should see: the new audio file in the folder you chose.
Listen before cleanup
Compare duration, the beginning, a middle section and the end before relying on the result.
You should hear: the intended language or track without unexpected silence.
If the audio is silent, clipped or the wrong language
Return to preflight and confirm the selected track and time range. If loudness normalization was enabled, remember that it uses two passes and needs the full analysis to finish. Recreate the file in a broadly supported format before deciding whether the source is still needed.
